“Raven’s story arc, in particular, is really interesting. It has been almost the opposite of all the other characters, in the sense that all the others have become tougher, but she has connected more with her vulnerable side. Her strength has been tested in ways she’d never experienced before.”

Do you see any part of you in your character? I do! I’m kinda a tomboy, I grew up a tomboy, and then I moved to L.A. and I learned to be a girl. I mean, you know, auditions - gotta do the makeup, do the hair, the whole ordeal. That’s a thing, you gotta look your best. So I had to take classes and I watched YouTube, and I didn’t know anything…it was sad. My reps were like “Lindsey, you can’t go to auditions with your hair in a ponytail, what’s wrong with you? You have to wear makeup!” So, I do that, and I learned it all, and when I got Raven - who was such a guys’ girl and so capable and so, like “I ain’t got time for that! I gotta go build a spaceship!” It was like, “Oh, yes, I kinda gotta relax and go back to those roots,” and so … that’s what I kinda relate to, and so I definitely feel that aspect of Raven […] But she’s a lot smarter than me, you know. [laughs]

And there’s more stories written about minorities and I feel like audiences want to see that, they want to see diversity. When they watch TV they want to see people that look like them, their friends, their family and their life.”
